3 places to sate cravings for curry in Hong Kong
Here are three hot spots for curry in Hong Kong that will get your heart pumping:
Tsui Wah's Malaysian curryTsui Wah Restaurant

For a quick curry fix, head over to the main branch of the Tsui Wah Restaurant in Central. Despite their American diner inspired décor, the restaurant serves some very tasty Malaysian curry dishes with coconut milk. A local favorite is the Malaysian beef stew curry (HK$45) which is spicy and very tender. It’s not the hottest curry in Hong Kong but it’s fast, delicious, and affordable.

International Curry House's samosasInternational Curry House

The International Curry House serves a wide variety of curry dishes from India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. Their menu caters to almost any curry palate with pretty intense levels of spiciness. One of their most addictive menu items is the vegetable samosa (HK$30 for six) which is essentially a lightly fried dumpling filled with vegetable curry. The filling of the samosa is piping hot, and the skin is not greasy at all. The Curry House is also known for its mouthwatering Indian chicken curry.

Ali Baba Curry King's Indian chicken curry Ali Baba Curry King

In Chungking Mansions, adventurous curry fanatics can find the Ali Baba Curry King eatery. It’s really more of a food stand with a few curb-side tables than an actual restaurant. The eatery serves traditional Indian curry dishes with your choice of meat (mutton, chicken, and seafood, HK$90). The cooks do not hold back on the spice so ask for some lassi (a yogurty spice extinguisher) too. They also prepare fresh naan that complements their spicy cuisine perfectly. The best time to eat at the Curry King is during their discount lunch specials.
Cost: $120 per person
Open daily, 8am-2am. Shop No. 110, G/F, 36-44 Nathan Road, Chungking Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, tel +852 3579 2885
