Unapologetic chick drink of the week: Cointreaupolitan
FINDS’ sultry Cointreaupolitan looks too good to drink. It is delicately hued in ballerina pink, with a single rose petal floating on top. A dozen minuscule, tapioca-like bubbles rest on the petal, each speckled with gold.
“This is more of a looker than anything else,” confesses bartender Antonio Lai, who’s been serving molecular mixology drinks at FINDS for over a year. And despite how taken we are with its sharp looks we’ll have to agree -- the drink is disappointingly bland.
Cointreaupolitan is part vodka lime and part cranberry juice but the real stars of the show are “Cointreau Pearls,” tiny bursts of alcohol made with a liquor-condensing Cointreaupolitan caviar kit using the 'spherification' technique pioneered by Ferran Adria, godfather of molecular gastronomy.
Staff writer and editorial assistant Tiffany Lam produced and scripted current affairs documentaries and was a reporter for a local English newspaper before making the brave, brave decision to write about things she’s actually interested about, at CNNGo.
