"Cursive I" uses the entire body to produce calligraphy, with hands and legs, kicks and turns, ballet and martial arts. As dancers' moves echo the stroke patterns of calligraphy, the characters they draw with their bodies appear on a screen behind them, building stroke by stroke. "Cursive I" is an acclaimed performance choreographed by Taiwan's Lin Hwai-min, for Cloud Gate Dance Theater.
