In-flight speed dating -- would you?
Don't vote for this one unless you're emotionally unavailable.Airport nightclub, virtual chess games and airport speed dating. These are just a few of the suggestions for the second installment of Finnair and Helsinki Airport’s “Quality Hunters” campaign to improve the air travel experience.
The ideas, which members of the public can submit to the Quality Hunters website, will eventually be shortlisted for a public vote, with one winning entry to be implemented on Finnair routes next year.
Some thoughts seem feasible: “No-noise headphones for rent.” Others are more fun: “Magazine and book swap.”
But what they really want on their campaign are creative ideas like: “Match passengers, live bands, stand-up comedians, airport arcades,” according to Petteri Kostermaa, sales director for Singapore and Southeast Asia, at Finnair.

“The best ideas are something that come out-of-the-box, something creative and feasible,” Kostermaa added.
The Quality Hunter project involves eight “Quality Hunters," a mix of journalists, food artists, service specialists, and entrepreneurs from around the world, jetting off to Finnair destinations in Europe, Asia and the United States.
The group blogs about shopping, food, service, socializing, business, entertainment, life on the road, and their travel-improvement suggestions will also be up for public vote.
