Coming soon: 'Incheon Robot Land' theme park

Incheon Robot Land, currently being built in a free-trade area in the northwest of South Korea, promises to open for business in 2012, offering a showcase for the country’s prowess in robotics by drawing visitors from across Asia.
The government is heavily involved in the new tourist attraction that mixes
high technology with all the traditional fun of the fair.
If you build it, they will come
As well as appealing to the region’s robot nerds (and kids, we hope) Robot Land will act as an incubator, with the government hoping it will host the best robotics developers and engineers from across the globe.
Alongside the factories, fun parks, hotels and even residential areas, there’ll also be – we’re told – spectacular Las Vegas-style shows created by Landmark Entertainment Group. It currently produces shows for the likes of Universal Studios.
Whether Landmark gets involved with all the attractions listed on the Robot Land puff website, we don't yet know, but we sure would like to see how Big Gyration and Funny Town turn out.
Ground has already been broken on the site, so it’s clearly going ahead, however ambitious/unrealistic it all may sound. We promise to bring you a report from the mechanical nirvana when it eventually opens.
In the meantime, whatever you do, please don't click on the ‘animated film’ promised on the website – endless cutesy characters with little real substance offered on the park is surely no one’s idea of informative.
Maybe read about the hair-washing android instead.
