Green Day: Live in Singapore
The Grammy Award-winning American rock trio of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and the Tre Cool are coming to town. The band will be playing their pop punk tracks from their latest album such as "21 Guns," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and of course "American Idiot."

David Tao in Space: The Talk & Rock Show
Mando-pop singer David Tao returns to promote his brand new album DT in Space -- a reference to the first lunar landing. Expect a rehash of music from his older albums and English songs from the 1970s and 1980s.

Hatsubasho Sumo Tournament
The first sumo tournament of the year, Hatsubasho, will be held at the Ryogoku Kokugikan from January 10 to 24. Although the proceedings are televised on NHK, it's worth heading over to Ryogoku to see the tournament in person.

Volkswagen Skate Rink in Tokyo Midtown
Volkswagen is sponsoring a giant ice skating rink at Tokyo Midtown from January 6 to February 28. The enormous rink can accommodate 200 skaters at once, but really, it's all about two people: you and a special someone gliding across the ice on a winter night.
