Tourist train from China rolls into North Korea

A train bound from China carrying curious tourists struck out for the reclusive country on Saturday

Kim Jong Il Are tourists heading to North Korea hoping to catch a glimpse of the fashion trend-setting Dear Leader?

All aboard! China's first tourist train to neighbor North Korea embarked on a four-day journey through the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday with more than 400 passengers from Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Guangdong and even some Finnish students, according to a Xinhuanet report via eturbonews.

This is the latest milestone in North Korean tourism this year as in January they lifted travel restrictions on United States citizens, and then in February China granted Destination Status to the DPRK.

Even with the DPRK's often rocky relationship with the rest of the world, and recent events such as the currently under investigation sinking of a South Korean patrol ship near the border, tourists are still eager to visit the reclusive country. Maybe it's because they want to catch a glimpse of the hottest new fashion trends as started by the Dear Leader himself.
