Wish you were here -- Kullu Valley, India

Along the long and winding road in the Valley of Gods
Kullu Valley, IndiaBuddhist prayer flags scatter the bridge at Kullu Valley.

I was riding on the back of a motorbike with a Tibetan friend from Manali, a hill station in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, to the Tibetan Children’s Village. The road parallels the Beas River and this bridge was strewn with Buddhist prayer flags. Kullu is also known as the Valley of Gods due to its long tradition of worshiping gods.

To get to Manali, flights from New Delhi to Kullu take about 80 minutes. Manali is a 90-minute drive away from Kullu. Another option is an overnight bus from New Delhi which takes about 14 hours.
