The first of two solar eclipses to happen this year took place Friday, January 15.
Check out the gallery above for photos of the solar eclipse from various points on its route.
The eclipse lasted a total of around 90 minutes and was visible from a 300-km-wide track that traversed central Africa, the Indian Ocean and parts of Asia.
