Super Typhoon Megi slams Philippines

Typhoon Megi hits the Philippines with winds of 225 kph and heavy rainfall

CNN reports Super Typhoon Megi has slammed into the Philippines with winds of about 225 kph and gusts of up to 260 kph.

The Philippines has seen it's share of bad weather as Megi is the 10th -- and strongest -- typhoon to hit this year.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration, Megi, also known as Typhoon Juan, made landfall near Sierra Madre on Luzon island. Hainan, China is also preparing for Super Typhoon Megi after it passes over the Philippines.
