Why women love Singapore and Hong Kong

Professional women working overseas have rated Hong Kong and Singapore among the top places in the world to relocate, according to results of a global survey released on the eve of International Women's Day.
The study was conducted by the recruitment agency Hydrogen Group and ESCP Europe among 2,637 professionals working in 85 countries, with 91 percent working abroad or looking to do so. Twenty percent of the respondents were female.
Among the female minority, 100 percent said they would recommend working in Hong Kong and Singapore, citing the low crime rate, tax incentives and opportunities for personal development in the two cities as reasons.
"We've noticed an increase in the number of women from overseas taking advantage of the career opportunities offered here," said Hydrogen Asia Regional Managing Director Simon Walker.
"Banking sectors in particular are looking to source experienced female professionals from a global talent pool."
Walker said that an overwhelming majority of the respondents said their living conditions and pay had improved after making the move to Asia.
In the global survey, Singapore was placed at a joint fifth with Canada in the top relocation destinations ranking, after the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Switzerland. Hong Kong was joint sixth with France.
