Hyatt and Four Seasons top picks for Asia-Pacific hotels
Grand Hyatt Beijing -- one of six best-in-city awards for the Hyatt stable. The Hyatt group runs the best business hotels in the Asia Pacific region, while Four Seasons ran the best hotels for leisure, according to a recent poll conducted among readers of travel magazine DestinAsian.
The sixth annual Reader’s Choice Awards was conducted among thousands of DestinAsian readers over a six-month period last year.
Apart from voting for their favorite hotel chain, readers were asked to rank their favorite hotels in 19 cities in the region. Hyatt scooped up six titles on the list, for its hotels in Beijing, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo.
Mandarin Oriental was given the nod twice, for their hotels in Kuala Kumpur and Bangkok.
The Peninsula took the top prize in Hong Kong, Ritz-Carlton won in Singapore with the Ritz-Carlton Millenia, while The Westin won favor for their hotel in Sydney. Taj Mahal Palace was anointed the best in Mumbai.
Bali’s Ayana Resort & Spa was named best spa in the region, while Singapore Airlines got a shout-out as the best airline.
DestinAsian readers said they'd prefer to be in Bali, Singapore and Bangkok most, be it for business or leisure.
