According to the Expo stats, the Thai pavilion has had more than 4 million visitors.Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva hit the Shanghai World Expo over the weekend for Thailand National Pavilion Day, where he announced Thailand’s not-so-secret plan to apply next year to host the World Expo 2020.
It looks like Thailand will be fighting to prove it's better than the proposed cities from these countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
What’s more interesting to us though is the national competition going on right now here in Thailand, with three cities battling it out to represent the country’s bid: Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and Chonburi. Expect things to get ugly in the months ahead.
