Royal wedding snub: Duchess Fergie went to Thailand instead

Notably absent from the much-hyped nuptials was Sarah Ferguson. Turns out she was in Thailand

"It was so hard because the last bride up that aisle was me," Duchess Sarah Ferguson tells Oprah.
Leave it to Oprah to ask Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson the question that’s been on every royal wedding gossip hound’s mind for weeks: "Were you invited or were you not?"

She wasn't. And it turns out she was actually in Thailand.

"I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia and ... the jungle embraced me," Fergie, 51, said in the interview taped Friday and set to air on Wednesday's "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

Though the Duchess didn't say why she wasn't invited, many speculate it stems from her being caught on camera in 2010 accepting money in exchange for a promise of business access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

As for this “Camelia” place she speaks of, it could be one of several villas in Phuket or Koh Samui with that name. Or, less likely, a tiny resort in Kanchanaburi that Travelfish.org says has a “nice pool but uninviting atmosphere" and goes for 800 baht a night.

No word yet on whether Oprah asked if Princess Beatrice wore that hideous hat to vindicate her mother.
