Thailand hotel is named 'Dirtiest in Asia'
First Hotel’s Youtube.com ad actually makes the hotel look pretty decent. They have improved from the dirtiest in Asia last year, to only the eighth dirtiest this year, so perhaps they've cleaned up their act.
This is one accolade the Tourism Authority of Thailand probably won’t be bragging about. Travel website TripAdvisor.com has released its annual list of the world’s dirtiest hotels, with a resort on the Thai island of Phi Phi Don winning the dubious honor of being voted Asia’s filthiest.
One only needs to look at the comments section on TripAdvisor’s page for the Phi Phi Don Chukit Resort to see why it won the top spot on the list.
Reviews like “So bad we didn’t stay,” and “disgusting” are among the more recent.
Bangkok wasn’t left off the list either. First Hotel Bangkok, last year’s worst in Asia, dropped down a few spots to win a spot in the top 10 as the eighth dirtiest accommodation in Asia. Comments on First Hotel were mixed. Along with “disgusting” and “yuk” were a few not-so-horrible reviews like “location ok” and “got my money’s worth.”
According to an article in the New Zealand Herald, the lists were compiled based on reviews from unimpressed travelers.
