Sepia-tinted stunner of the week: The Bhuthorn

A rare 20th century shophouse B&B in the middle of Bangkok's old city
The BhuthornThe Bhuthorn occupies two century-old shophouses and overlooks a heritage-listed square in the old city.
A throwback to an age when the city's well-to-do went nuts for all things European, The Bhuthorn is a princely, 20th century shophouse B&B in the heart of the old city.

It only has three guestrooms, each uniquely decorated with Thai fabrics and antiques. The co-owners are architects and had to follow the Thai Fine Art Department’s guidelines when restoring the building given it sits in the historic Phraeng Bhuthorn neighborhood, just down the road from the Grand Palace. (Khao San Road is nearby too, should you feel up for a wild night out.)
