The Loom has taken a once exotic art form from the hills of Chiang Mai and made it a popular Bangkok trend.
A unique take on those knitting clubs that can be found in many of Bangkok's malls, The Loom lets people buy their own spools of fabric thread, and weave them into items like scarves or skirts -- a once exotic art form found up on the hills of Chiang Mai.
Weaving has become a favorite past-time of Bangkok's socialites and celebrities. The room is filled with 10 “looms”, or weaving machines mapped from the traditional ones found in rural silk villages.
It takes about two hours to weave one scarf. Don’t feel like weaving your own? The shop has already-weaved products for sale too (and you can pretend you weaved it yourself as you give them to friends or family as a gift).

Been there yesterday. I was fun (for me to watch and for the missus to weave). Indeed it doesn't take long to weave something, especially if you choose the larger yarn size. It's not cheap though, the introductory 2-hour mini scarf costs 1,600 THB.
