Gaysorn Plaza: One-stop luxury

With its sleek whitewashed interior and abundance of upscale brands such as Burberry, Fendi and Gucci, Gaysorn is Bangkok’s most cosmopolitan shopping center. But look a little closer and you’ll see that there are some domestic touches among the international bling.

The second floor is home to several Thai fashion labels, while upstairs, Harnn & Thann features fragrant Thai soaps and shampoos and Niwat Cultery specializes in handsome stainless steel flatware from Ayuthaya. On the same floor, the open-air D&O Shop is the first retail venture of an organization created to encourage awareness of Thai design abroad.

For the indecisive and wealthy, Gaysorn also offers a “Lifestyle Consultant” service. Two “experts”, a local fashion designer and a makeup artist, are on call help with those difficult shopping decisions. Now that’s a job any girl would love!
