Save Our Shops! Bangkok bargains as red shirt protests continue

Siam shops affected by the mall closures are offering goods at discount prices in alternative Bangkok shopping venues
Thai red shirt demonstrators rest inside their fortified camp in the city's Rajaprasong area on Tuesday.
With Bangkok’s red shirts still hanging onto the popular upscale shopping and hotel district of Rajaprasong despite government threats to shut down their utilities if they don’t go home, losses for shops in the area's still-closed malls like Paragon, CentralWorld and Siam Discovery continue to mount.

To offset some of the damage, Siam Center and Siam Discovery retailers are now holding massive sales at two separate venues, dubbed the “SOS Siam Super Sale.” The sales will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and Midtown Thonglor untill May 16, from 10.30am-8.30pm and 10am-9pm respetcively.

According to blog Bangkokshoppinggirl.blogspot.com, there will be discounts of up to 90 percent off on products from over 200 popular brands in fashion clothing, accessories, cosmetics, audio devices, sports goods, home furniture and furnishings.

These include Adidas, Billabong, FCUK, Jaspal, Kipling, Lacoste, Miss Sixty/Energie, Nike, Paul Frank, Quiksilver, Roxy, Rip Curl, Shu uemura, Swatch and Tag Heuer. The Midtown Thonglor event will feature popular fashions from Thai designers like Mob.F, 27 Friday, 27 Nov, Baking Soda, Greyhound Original, Playhound, Seneda and Kloset.
