This week in Bangkok: Two nights, two big US indie acts

Brooklyn's The Drums are here Tuesday, followed by Californian rockers Evaline on Sunday

Two indie acts from the United States will hit the stage in Bangkok this week.

First up is Brooklyn-bred pop-rockers The Drums, short-listed by several music publications -- including NME -- as one of the top breakout bands to watch in 2009/2010.

The band is best known for the hit “Let’s go surfing” off their 2009 album “Summertime.” (Video above)

The Drums will play at Thonglor soi 10 nightclub Muse on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. (+66 (0)89 988 5995). Tickets are 800 baht each, available at Thaiticketmajor.com or at the door.

Sunday, May 29 sees up-and-coming Californian indie rock act Evaline playing a free show at suburban favorite Parking Toys at 9 p.m as part of their ongoing Asia tour.  (See listing below for contact details).
