Thailand invited to “Sing for the King”
Thai producer Boyd Kosiyabongse and singer Nop Pornchamni have come up with a really cool way to allow the country to join them in offering His Majesty the King a musical birthday.
Their website, www.SingForTheKing.org, allows people to record their own musical greetings and actions onto the site, which the celeb duo will edit into a series of music videos.
All you need is a microphone and a video camera to participate. There's a section on the site where you can record your take on the duo's specially composed tune "Sing for the King.” Got a voice that makes small children burst into tears of fear? That’s ok, there are a variety of other “actions” you can film yourself doing, from holding the Thai flag to hugging yourself. There are even "props" you can download to assist.
According to a report in The Nation, Boyd and Nop were inspired by the video for the song "Hibi No Neiro" by Japanese band Sour.
