Check out the world's greatest kiteboarders in Bangkok's favorite seaside retreat as they battle it out on the waves

Some of the world's best kiteboarders are in Hua Hin right now for the Kiteboarding World Cup. The seaside resort, about two and a half hours outside of Bangkok, is hosting the event in two parts. On the weekend there was an Asian qualifier that allowed some of the region's top boarders a chance to earn a place in the main event competing against the world greats, which started on March 15.

Some of the international pros were out on the weekend practicing their skills too, tempting us to get out of Bangkok and head for the beach to catch the rest of the action this week. Everything ends on Saturday, March 20. For those interested in learning the sport themselves, visit Kiteboardingasia.com.

Thanks to ideal winds and surf conditions, Hua Hin beach has become a Mecca for kitesurfers in the last couple of years.
