From Chiang Mai to Singapore -- on a skateboard

All in the name of charity, a couple is making the long journey south by long board and inline skates
Skating to SingaporeJim Petersson recently rolled into Hua Hin, where he and girlfriend Maria Larsson will stay for three nights before continuing south.
We’ve heard of people biking from Thailand to Singapore in the name of charity, but skating?

Swedish education workers Jim Petersson, 25, and his girlfriend Maria Larsson, 29, are attempting to skate almost 5,000 kilometers, from Chiang Mai to Singapore. They recently arrived in Hua Hin and have been skating about 30 to 90 kilometers a day since they left Chiang Mai on January 16, reports the Phuket Gazette.

Petersson is riding a long board skateboard and Larsson is traveling in her rollerblades. They’re skating to raise 220,000 baht for the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation. To track the pair’s progress, become a fan on Facebook or visit their website, Mrjimonlongboard.com
