Are your fingers nimble enough to beat the best? The 2009 World Rubik's Cube Champion won with an average time of 10.74 seconds.

Thailand might not be hosting any F1 Grand Prix races, but another global speed-based event is coming here in October: The 2011 World Rubik’s Cube Championships.

The best "Speedcubers" on the planet will compete in a variety of events at Bangkok’s Baiyoke Sky Hotel from October 14-16, 2011, including for the title of World Rubik’s Cube Champion.

The official World Championship website says as many as 350 nimble-fingered competitors from around 40 countries will compete in the biannual event, among them many world record holders and national champions.

The three days of tough competition include 19 official events and prize money totaling over 24,000 euros (1 million baht).

The event is open to anyone and is free, but before you sign up keep in mind the 2009 champion was able to complete his cube in just 10.74 seconds.
