The answer, it turns out, is "more than you think", after three protest leaders escaped from their hotel in front of a crowd of cheering onlookers
It’s an escape that's now being watched around the world. Friday morning, three red shirt protest leaders evaded Thai security authorities despite forces surrounding their Bangkok hotel.
In a bold move, as shown in the CNN report above, the men were lowered from a third-floor window and fled in a waiting truck as security forces searched the hotel. Police said two officers left with them to carry out negotiations.
An estimated 1,000 red shirt demonstrators had gathered outside the SC Park Hotel, but dispersed shortly after the leaders escaped.
