There are hundreds of great Bangkokians on Twitter we love and interact with daily. These six English language Twitterers, however, are masters of the insightful insider observation. Rarely will you see them tweeting about their digestive problems or ranting about how bad the traffic is. We follow them, and you should too.
Politics: Bangkok Pundit
Want to make sense of what’s going on in the colorful world of Thai politics?
Bangkok Pundit is the Twitterer to follow. This famous Bangkok blogger keeps us laymen continuously up to date on the latest news/moves and opinions in the media and political arena.
Cinema: Wise Kwai
One of Bangkok’s biggest movie fans. Have a question about a Thai film? Chances are
Wise Kwai can answer it -- and is more than happy to over Twitter.
Photography: Gavin Gough
If you’re into beautiful travel photography follow Bangkok-based professional photographer
Gavin Gough. He posts on the latest photography exhibitions, photo classes/tours and offers links to his latest Bangkok pics, which are always incredible.
Celebrity: Way Thaitay
Of all the Thai celebrities tweeting in English,
Way of hip hop trio Thaitanium is one of our favorites because he has something more to offer than just self-promotion. The entrepreneur/entertainer interacts with his fans, updates us on concerts and is even inspirational at times, imploring us to “rise and grind” and make a difference in Bangkok. Doesn’t hurt that he’s ridiculously good looking either.
Quirky slice of Thai culture: Life in Vehicles
This is the twitter account of blogger
Dale Konstaz. We featured Dale’s
very cool blog on CNNGo last year, which highlights some of the interesting/wacky icons he finds inside Bangkok taxis. On Twitter he tweets his latest posts as well as other websites that have insightful Bangkok content worth checking out.
Media man: Bangkok Bugle
In Bangkok, publications come and go every month, making it difficult to track what's happening in the publishing world. That’s why we follow
Bangkok Bugle, who provides regular updates on the country’s magazine/newspaper scene.
Cultural insights: Richard Barrow
Ok technically Richard isn’t in Bangkok. He’s just a bit south, in Samut Prakorn. But he has been here for years and has a series of blogs that offer fantastic insights on food, culture, events and so much more. His two Twitter accounts,
Richard Barrow and
Thailand Voice, offer travel tips, updates, advice and links to some of the best stories/blogs in the country.
