Rosdee's inaccessibility is a wonderful thing. What we're not a big fan of is the air-conditioning surcharge.
If Rosdee were easy to reach from Bangkok’s skytrain system, it would surely be listed in Lonely Planet and crammed full of diners. But Rosdee, far better than most neighborhood restaurants, remains a well-kept secret.
Come to enjoy the staff in their bowties, the roasted ducks hanging in the window and the slightly exotic menu -- all without the crowds. You might be tempted to try the curried frogs or some of the other rare dishes on Rosdee’s extensive menu. Go ahead. They’re tasty. But it’s Rosdee’s expert rendering of Thai-Chinese classics that really delivers.
Check the bill with its rather amusing surcharge for air-conditioning, which is only 5 baht, and try as many dishes as you can swallow. Rosdee's food is as cheap as it is savory.
