Roof by Muse: Thonglor's chill party starter

For those looking for a joint to warm things up at before hitting the Thonglor party scene, welcome to Roof. Located on the decorated rooftop of the popular Muse Thonglor, Roof serves excellent food that’s reminiscent of the Thai fusion fare found at Greyhound Cafe.

Meal prices are moderate, at 100-200 baht per dish. We recommend their exquisite morning glory tempura with spicy salad. Another reason to check out Roof: the bar offers free strangely-named cocktail samples for everyone on a random basis.

There are sofa seats in the main area, but if you’re there early, walk to the far end and claim a spot in one of the coveted high-backed seats that make you feel a bit like royalty.

Music at Roof is the exact opposite of the hopping Muse below, as the bands and DJs only play music to chill out to. And we’re talking super chill, not elevator music, but verging on pop-bossa nova. Somehow it works.

To get there, walk up the stairs that head to Muse. On the left is a little elevator that will take you up to this small but impressive third floor venue. There’s also an air-conditioned cocktail bar inside for non-smokers.
