Maru offers some of Bangkok's best -- and priciest -- sushi.
With fresh fish flown in twice a week from Japan (Tuesday and Fridays), the unassuming Maru is well known for its mouth-watering sashimi and sushi.
Situated in the Japanese enclave of Thong Lor, where Japanese restaurants outnumber Thai restaurants, the 12-year-old Maru is where Japanese executives dine without worrying about the cost (it is expensive).
However between 5pm-7pm, Maru offers great value set meals for 500 baht, which even include a free beer.
