Foodie alert: Four Seasons Bangkok announces lineup for 12th World Gourmet Festival

World Gourmet Festival BangkokA dish by Chef Hari Nayak of Mumbai's Orissa restaurant. Chef Hari will join seven other international top chefs at this year's World Gourmet Festival in Bangkok.

Bangkok’s food event of the year, the World Gourmet Festival, will invade the kitchens of the Four Seasons for its 12th installment from September 5-11. 

The festival has made a name for itself over the years by bringing in some of the world’s best chefs. 

Though the final lineup is still to be confirmed, chefs scheduled to participate at this year’s Gourmet Festival include:

Ivo Adam, Seven, Ascona, Switzerland
Adriano Cavagnini, Amaranto, London, UK
Anthony Demetre, Wild Honey, London, UK
Guido Haverkock, I Portici, Bologna, Italy
Dolli Irigoyen, Espacio Dolli, Buenos Aires, Argentina
David Lee, Nota Bene, Toronto, Canada
Hari Nayak, Orissa, Mumbai, India
Kazumi Sawada, Hoku, Guangzhou, China

Each guest chef will host two evenings in one of the hotel’s restaurants and the event will be overseen by Four Seasons Executive Chef Nicolas Schneller, along with the hotel's Shintaro Chef Satoshi Sawada and Biscotti newcomer Chef Daniele Cason. 

For the first time, the World Gourmet Festival will include two wine tasting events with renowned winemakers Pio Boffa of Pio Cesare, and Jonathan Maltus of World’s End, as well as a tea pairing event by master tea-blenders Dilmah.

The World Gourmet Lunch will take place daily from Monday, September 5 to Thursday, September 8, with a cooking demonstration from one of the guest chefs each day, live cooking stations, and a chance to sample some of the creations of the guest chefs. 

The World Gourmet Brunch will take place on Sunday, September 11.

For out-of-towners, Four Seasons has put together a World Gourmet Festival package that includes overnight accommodation, complimentary breakfast and a featured dinner for two persons per night booked.

Part of the festival's proceeds of will go to HRH Princess Soamsawali’s Save A Child’s Life from AIDS Project. Guests can make reservations for the 12th Annual World Gourmet Festival dinners starting on Friday, August 5.
