Time for another Bangkok epicurean journey with Dusit's All Senses
Six days of French delights are on the All Senses: A Gastronomic Odyssey menu.If you thought Bangkok’s World Gourmet Festival was enough to satisfy the city's gluttons, think again.
Bangkok’s Dusit Thani Hotel is holding its very own celebration of French cuisine from October 6-11. And All Senses: A Gastronomic Odyssey promises to live up to its fancy name.
It’s all taking place at the hotel’s D'Sens restaurant, arguably the best French eatery in the city. Chefs include famed brothers Jacques and Laurent Pourcel -- owners of the two Michelin-starred Le Jardin des Sens in Montpellier, France -- as well as award-winning Japanese French chef Kotaro Hasegawa. Sommelier Yannis Kherachi of France's Le Jardin des Sens Montpellier will be on hand to keep the wine flowing too.
All Senses is also offering French-themed events in addition to the daily dinners -- from champagne brunches, Parisian afternoons and wine tasting sessions to high teas, pastry and cooking demonstrations and a French beauty workshop.
The highlight of the event is a final eight-course dinner put on by all participating chefs, for 6,000 baht per person (wine included).
One complaint. Why can’t Bangkok’s hotels spread these things out? Don’t they realize the Fours Seasons has the World Gourmet Festival on this week too? We have waist lines to watch. Not to mention work the next day. As granny used to say, too much wine fogs the mind.
But we’ll still go to All Senses, and we’ll enjoy that seared Maine lobster and the fig mille feuilles with Roquefort and Muscat syrup. After all, events like this are too few to miss out on.
