Chef Cason's tuna tartar with avocado, fresh tomato and lemon comfit.
Big changes at Italian favorite Biscotti, in Bangkok's Four Seasons Hotel. The restaurant recently brought in a new chef, Italian Daniele Cason, who has revamped the menu.
Before coming to Bangkok Cason was head Italian chef at the Four Seasons Cairo's Seasons restaurant. He's originally from Rome, which is reflected in the tastes of the new menu.
New dishes include: Italian caprese, made with tomato Cuore di Bue, mozzarella and fresh basil; tuna tartar with avocado, fresh tomato and lemon comfit; smoked lobster risotto with fresh tomato, basil and vanilla beans; and a delicious basil-crusted rack of lamb with mashed potatoes, fava beans and truffle Pecorino cheese crumble.
The chef change is of significance for Bangkok diners, as Biscotti isn’t your average hotel restaurant. Over the years it's become one of Bangkok’s top power lunch spots, offering a set lunch with a choice of two or three courses that includes the antipasti buffet or an à la carte menu.
On any given day of the week it’s full of action -- in the open-air kitchen, at the buffet table and around the comfortable interior.
Long-time fans need not worry, as some of the popular Biscotti classics are still on the menu.
