Just in time for July 4: Thai martinis and chili vodka

An online travel mag has put together a tasty sounding list of drinks made with ingredients unique to SE Asia. Unfortunately they overlooked Thailand's 'national drink'

Looking to celebrate the Fourth of July in style this weekend? Forget the Budweiser and whip up a few cocktails with some very un-American ingredients instead, such as Thai chilis, Kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass and lychee.

Online travel magazine network Matador has rounded up a great list of six cocktail recipes made with the flavors of Southeast Asia. Included on the list are the Thai Martini, the Lemongrass Lychee Martini, the Chili Martini Cocktail, the Lemongrass Mojito, Infused Chili Vodka and the cleverly named Ginger not Mary Ann Cocktail.

Sadly, they left Thailand’s ‘national drink’ off the list. Despite being around for well over a year, it looks like the Siam Sunray still hasn't earned a spot the world's bar menus just yet. Or Bangkok's, for that matter.
