Author: Melinda Joe

Hi, I'm Melinda Joe. Originally from Louisiana, I'd only planned to stay in Japan for a year when I fell in love with Japanese food and sake. The rest, as they say, is history.

A freelance journalist specializing in food, drinks and culture, I'm the bar editor for the Tokyo Food Page. My work has appeared in publications such as the UK Guardian, the Japan Times and the Wine Enthusiast.

I'm also a certified wine and sake professional with a passion for cooking. You can read about my adventures in gastronomy on the blog Tokyo through the Drinking Glass, voted one of  the Top 10 Blogs about Japan by the Guardian in 2008.
