Back in 2001 she left her job as a television news producer in Canada to travel through Asia and Australia. Three weeks into the trip she had that quintessentially Thai experience -- a motorbike accident -- and soon after found herself recovering on her parent's couch in small town Alberta, beer in hand, wondering where her life went wrong.
Seeing as she had no job she decided to try again, this time hitting Bali and Australia for a year of surfing and work, including a character-building experience that involved slapping stickers on papayas in a fruit field. Fun as that was she decided to return to Thailand, where she's been for the past eight years working as a writer/editor for several publications in the region.
