So what is CNNGo? One website, six cities?
Well, yes. One website and six cities. At least for now.
We'll be adding more cities in the coming months but are launching with these six -- Bangkok, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. Arguably some of the most amazing places in not only Asia, but the world.
Rather than rant on here about how exciting or culturally rich they are or whatever other fabulously delicious, adjective-laden cliches you might be expecting, we prefer to let our content do the talking.
But we'll say this: What CNNGo does is compile, in one place, the best each city has to offer. And that means more than just places to go, things to buy or see, or which restaurants and bars to spend your time and money in. Yes we've got that, but we want to deliver more than that -- offering real insight and experiences of these cities and their surrounds. And by the way, CNNGo pays its own way.
CNNGo is ultimately all about providing you a better experience of the place you live or are traveling to, and giving you a real sense of its makeup and character. A guide to the city by insiders for insiders.
And we are doing it by tapping into not only our swarm of locally-based professional editors and contributors, but also bloggers, opinion makers, other travel/lifestyle sources and the very people that form the soul of a city. Contact us if you are a professional writer or journalist and feel you have something to offer to CNNGo.
However, to cover these cities the way they deserve to be covered, we want you involved. You don't have to be a pro to write for CNNGo. In fact, we've created a unique column called City Pulse just for you, dear passionate, knowledgeable reader. We want you to share your experience, your local insight, your neighborhood's favorite gems, your unique view of the world. Here's how to get involved with the City Pulse section.
Whether you are a local resident, a business traveller, planning a holiday or indeed on vacation, we're glad you've found us. Our mission is to expose and present the best city experiences for you. Welcome to CNNGo.
Now, in case you are wondering, how is CNNGo different to CNN.com or the CNN you watch on television?
Firstly, we are a separate division of CNN. CNNGo has its own regionally-based team of staff, and is a smaller operation than CNN's global team of 4,000 news professionals.
Like CNN, we at CNNGo strive for accuracy. We ensure we provide balanced, well-researched posts and remain objective at all times.
Next, as you'll see by scanning around on CNNGo, we focus on travel/lifestyle/entertainment. While we do feature a selection of videos, news and other items from CNN.com, if it is the latest in news from around the world that you are looking for, you'll find it online at the International Edition of CNN.com. CNN.com/International features the latest multimedia technologies, from live video streaming to audio packages to searchable archives of news features and background information.
And if you'd rather just switch on the telly, you'll find all the news you need and other great programming on your CNN channels.
Thanks for being with us -- make sure you let us know about your experience with CNNGo.
